Magnetic Beads
Magnetic beads are small spheres with magnetic properties, usually made of iron oxide. These beads are coated with antibodies or DNA sequences that allow them to bind to target molecules such as proteins or nucleic acids. This facilitates isolation and purification processes, allowing the beads to be easily separated from the rest of the sample when exposed to a magnetic field.
Magnetic beads are very useful in laboratory techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction, protein purification, immunoprecipitation assays, cell culture, transfection, cell extraction and separation.
Most kits are ready to use, meaning that the user can immediately start isolating proteins or cells as soon as they receive them.
SelectIngredient offers a variety of ready-made kits with Magnetic Beads for various applications, including:
-
- Isolation of DNA or RNA from tissues, buccal swabs, plasma and blood.
- Isolation of human T and B cells from blood, bone marrow and other fluid samples.
- Magnetic separation of blood cells.
- Magnetic separation of dead and living cells.
- Cell transfection.
