Mycotoxins
Mycotoxins are natural chemical substances produced by molds (fungi) that can contaminate agricultural products such as cereals, grains, spices, nuts, among others. The direct consumption of contaminated food and feed poses health risks to animals and humans.
Mycotoxins have a strong impact on the productivity of activities such as livestock and fish farming. The entry of mycotoxins or their metabolites into the food chain through milk, animal tissues or eggs, for example, should not be underestimated. Many countries have adopted regulations to limit the exposure of consumers and animals to these substances. Among the most requested are Aflatoxins, Fumonisins, Patulin, Trichothecenes (DON, Zearalenon, T-2/HT-2) and Ochratoxins.
Our portfolio includes rapid lateral flow strip tests, ELISA and immunoaffinity columns to meet the different requirements of the food, cereal and feed industries.
Mycotoxin testing is quick, easy and accurate when using lateral flow strips, providing precise results on the spot, thus eliminating costs and delays in sending grain samples for testing. Quantitative test results are obtained using automatic equipment that combines digital imaging technology with advanced mathematical processing, providing fast and objective results.
